NLP for Confidence at Godalming & Moorgate
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a mode of life-coaching that has been extensively used to help business executives reach their full potential for many years.
It’s a versatile model that can be personalised for each individuals characteristics to create an effective means to promote personal development, to help people realise their full potential and achieve more success.
NLP is considered to be one of the most useful practices in modern psychology because it helps us to understand how our thoughts and feelings affect our behaviour enabling us to create more successful strategies. Learning a set of NLP skills can enhance the way we interact with people around us improving our confidence and behaviour in situations that may otherwise be challenging.
We’re constantly learning and updating our knowledge of the world around us from our life experiences. For example, If we’ve been to a cafe or restaurant and the food and service were very poor, we’ll learn not go back again. If our experience has been good and we’ve enjoyed good food and service we’re more likely to choose to go back. The mind/body connection means that our thinking from past experiences determines how we feel and behave in the future.
The lessons we learn from our past experiences can have a major impact on how we live our lives. If we’ve previously suffered negative experiences in certain aspects of our life, the fear of repeating the same mistakes can prevent us from moving forward. For instance, if we gave a presentation on a day when we hadn’t done enough preparation and we perceived that it all went horribly wrong, our brain will learn everything it can from the experience to save us from making the same mistake again. So if we’re asked to do another presentation our memories will help us decide how to move forward. Some people will ensure they’re fully prepared and they’ll be fine. For others the memories can create intense nervous thoughts and feelings causing them to make mistakes again which can become the foundation too the belief that they’re a failure at presentations. If people think they’re a failure at something it makes sense to avoid making similar mistakes. However it means that they can find themselves stuck in certain areas of their life and missing out on opportunities.
